WARRENTON NORTH COAST BUSINESS PARK
The Warrenton city commission delays approval of an intergovernmental agreement with Clatsop County regarding the North Coast Business Park. That’s the site of the new proposed Costco. Language references a fire station that the city earlier asked for. But city manager Bob Maxfield says the discussion was open ended with no specific definition of the costs involved. Clarification is needed since the city can’t require one tax lot to provide a fire station and apparatus. But, it may be possible instead to obtain some of the county’s land for fire training purposes.

The Warrenton city commission stands by Fire Chief Ted Ames and Ames’ concerns about inadequate public safety planning for the proposed LNG facility at Bradwood Landing east of Astoria. Mayor Gil Gramson says, “there shouldn’t be any misunderstanding on that.”
