The Port of Astoria is to receive a $50,000 state grant for planning and marketing from the Oregon Economic and Development Department. Executive director Jack Crider says the money is already set aside for the port and just awaited formal application. Crider received the authorization to apply from the port commission last week. In recent months, the new port commission members on record as stating that a new strategic business plan is needed for the port.
