Lower Columbia 11's Blanked In Regional Opener, 7/22

The Lower Columbia 11-year-old Cal Ripken All-Stars had a rough start at the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Eugene, losing their pool play opener 10-0 in five innings to Upper Rogue.
The Southern Oregon squad collected seven hits and took advantage of seven errors, six walks and two hit batters to earn the mercy rule victory.
Lower Columbia had five hits and left seven runners on base in the loss.
The Clatsop-Pacific County All-Stars continue pool play on Wednesday with a noon matchup against Twin Falls, Idaho before taking on Hoquiam at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
