Port of Astoria executive director Jack Crider says he’s beating the port’s “drum” to market the port. “We do a lot of great things…we have a lot of great tenants here that a lot of people don’t know about.” Port sponsorships of area activities may give the port more of a local presence. Crider plans upgrades to the port’s website. Commissioner Floyd Holcom agrees that the website needs to highlight the port’s tenants. Crider says, “virtually without them we’re in trouble.”
